Simone Corvino

Artist
Simone Corvino was born in Washington D.C. on November 8, 2000, but grows up in Monte di Procida, a seaside town outside Napoli.

His musical influences are the result of a young life spent in the United States and Italia, along with the many musicians who frequent his home. Some of the artists Simone listens to the most in elementary school were Fabrizio De Andre, Rino Gaetano, The Neapolitan Power, Cat Stevens, Neil Young and The Pretenders, but he finds true love in eighth grade when he discovers the Beatles. It’s at that precise moment that he puts down his arpeggios and solfeggi, and carries his mini electric guitar to “Zio” Antonio, aka Principe. Antonio De Carmine introduces him to music they don’t teach in school- The Clash, Joe Strummer, The Pixies, R.E.M. and The White Stripes.

In 2016, during his sophomore year of high school, Simone and his family are forced to move suddenly to the United States when they discover his beloved Nonna Nancy has become seriously ill with Alzheimer’s. Leaving his home and friends would have been challenging enough, but he finds his entire world and everyone in it changed overnight. Simone’s idyllic life was gone. He now spent days alone in his room with his guitar and begins composing his first songs.

And this new way of communicating, only and exclusively through his music, in some ways replaces those other languages he no longer accesses easily.

His experiences in America are profound. In 2017, he spends the summer studying at the University of Southern California Film School in Los Angeles. He applies to many colleges in California, but somewhere along the way to his high school diploma finds that music is calling him. This choice leads him to New York City where he pursues his degree while continuing his journey as a songwriter. Much of his repertoire is written in the chaos of dorm life and the crazy energy that’s New York City. In the winter of his second year there, he begins to send his first songs, one after the other, to his parents, who in turn send everything to Antonio De Carmine, already aware of the enormous potential that Simone had already unconsciously revealed as a child. From there begins a production that slowly but methodically evolves. The decision is made to return to Napoli and start the production of his first album. In the midst of a global pandemic, Simone and his family, including Nonna Nancy, return home. With an extensive repertoire of songs, Simone decides, with his team, to start from the first song he wrote at 16, Teenage Rage, hence the first album Chaos Theory. Simone Corvino graduates from The Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts at The New School in New York City on December 31, 2021. The album Chaos Theory is released on April 6, 2022.
